Luxury Holiday Cottages

In Idyllic Locations

Solitude, location, views. Warmth of cottage and extremely comfortable beds

H.E. - East Cottage, Thwaite Cottages, near Barnard Castle, County Durham - May 2017

An ideal retreat for perfect relaxation

"An ideal retreat for perfect relaxation. Four of us (all adults) spent a week in East Cottage and cannot recommend it highly enough. Overlooking fields of sheep and with the sound of Curlews and Owls, what's not to like. Home from home warmth with the most comfortable beds and pristine bedding/linen. Every need is catered for (except oven gloves and Welcome Pack), but hey, we took our own food, and bath mats make good oven gloves! All the rooms were very spacious and clean and the garden was well fenced for our 4-legged friend. A good selection of local tourist information was also available. Only 15 miles from Scotch Corner, we were handy for Barnard Castle, Richmond, Hawes and only a car ride from good hostelries."

Absolutely fantastic location ...

"Absolutely fantastic location. Saw oodles of wildlife but didn't get to see the pine martins or otters that others commented upon so will have to return! Thank you Julie."

"Loved the personal service in booking. The location was amazing. Really well appointed house and comfortable. Loved the bird feeders. Love the book about the house and estate. Really enjoyed being able to sit outside on the verandah and just watch and listen!"

This is a wonderful place to stay ...

Without question this is a wonderful place to stay. Our 10th year, staying at least once a year. You can't beat it for total peace & quiet, but convenient for Inverness or touring Westwards or further North. Marvelous wildlife & birds in the grounds. The day we were leaving the Bluebells were out in the woods above the cottage. At certain times of year there are seals in the bay when the tide goes out. We especially love the Geese visiting the opposite shore in the evenings. Glorious sunsets looking over Ben Wyvis. A walk through the Ormond castle forest track & the Redwood trees on Rosehaugh estate is a must. Can't wait to go back!

M.C. - Roebuck Cottage, Bay Farm, Avoch, Munlochy Bay, nr. Inverness, Scotland - April 2017

fantastic stay at Roebuck Cottage ...

"We had a fantastic stay at Roebuck Cottage. I did a lot of research for a cottage where we could take Martha our young Labrador along but was not a typical "dog friendly" cottage. i.e. I wanted a "home from home" place that wasn't all cheap furniture and throws and Roebuck definitely lived up to my expectation. The location was amazing with walks right from the door and the water front just a couple of miles away. It's never too cold for a Labrador dip in the water even in the north of Scotland. We will definitely return and have already recommended to friends."

Book it!

"Book it! This is an amazing property which is very well equipped, comfortable and spacious. The grounds are incredible and we saw a lot of wildlife including deer. The Black Isle itself is a wonderful area with lovely views and milder weather than much of Scotland."

Fabulous walking in the Dales

"This was our 3rd stay at Primrose Cottage.  It is very well equipped, lovely furnishings and in easy walking distance of very nice shops - deli, gift, restaurant/bread maker - not to mention a fantastic pub.  It is only 15 minutes drive to Kendaland the Lake District.  Fabulous walking in the Dales."

T.H. - Primrose Cottage, Sedbergh, Cumbria - February 2017

stunning view was enough to want to come back ...

My friends and I stayed here for two nights and we wish we had stayed for longer. The house exceeded our expectations, was beautifully kept and in an excellently secluded location. The rooms are very spacious and we all appreciated having 4 bathrooms at hand during our stay. Waking up in the morning and looking out of the window at the stunning view was enough to want to come back. We all enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider returning in the future.
