Primrose Cottage

Sedbergh, Cumbria

Primrose Cottage is a delightful self-catering cottage located in the heart of the pretty town of Sedbergh in Cumbria, between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. This cosy terraced cottage has undergone extensive refurbishment to turn it into a comfortable, luxury self-catering holiday home. Only a short walk to the centre of Sedbergh and local pubs, restaurants, bookshops, and Sedbergh School. Sedbergh is the biggest town in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and a perfect spot to use as a base to explore this beautiful part of the country.

Primrose Cottage is fully furnished and very well equipped and sleeps four guests in two bedrooms.

Layout:

Downstairs is an open plan living / dining / kitchen area, and a large cloakroom with a wash hand basin, W.C., and a washer/dryer. The back door leads into a yard but is not part of the cottage, so only to be used for emergency exit.

Upstairs is a landing with a bureau.

The double bedroom comprises a king size bed, bedside cabinets, built in wardrobe, and dressing table.

The twin bedroom, straight ahead at the top of the stairs, consists of two single beds, bedside cabinet, and a wardrobe.

The bathroom has a bath with shower (note: low ceiling!), wash hand basin, and W.C.

Heating and electricity included in your rental. We provide all bedding, bed linen and towels, TV, and WiFi (subject to fair usage policy).

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Please note: There is no outdoor area or garden, so please take dogs out, across the road to do their business.

July 2025 - We’d like to inform you that construction work is currently taking place on the property next to Primrose Cottage.  The contractors are aware of the holiday guests and disruption should be minimal. Additionally, the contractors finish work around 3pm and do not operate on weekends.

Country Cottage Holiday

Beautiful location and extremely well presented property.  All of the furnishings are top quality and the overall standard is extremely high. Had a magnificent week with our 2 children and the in-laws (2nd year running). Really enjoyed the tranquil setting but still convenient to other attractions.

An excellent place to relax ..

Red Kite House is an excellent place to relax. Placed in the middle of marvellous and idyllic nature. It is also a good starting point for many tours. The house was clean and very well equipped. We felt very comfortable.

Best for location ...

We've stayed in 14 cottages over the years and this one is equal first with one other for facilities but easily the best for location. After an enjoyable holiday we often say we would love to go back in this case we will definitely return. The welcome basket of food was very much appreciated.

The quiet country location ..

Loved the gift of wine and chocs - much appreciated.  The quiet country location suited us well.  All three ladies in the party were pleased with their rooms and accommodation overall.

J.F. - Manor House Farm - April 2015

The most beautiful cottage in a breathtaking location. Absolutely loved our stay and will definitely return. We had a couple of issues which were resolved by Country Cottage Holidays immediately and without question. The only thing we would find off putting is the adjacent cottage. It was unoccupied whilst we were there, but if it had been and they had had a dog, it could have caused problems as there is only a gate separating the two gardens at the front. Other than that, full marks!

G.W. - Manor House Farm - April 2015

The house is absolutely lovely, really nicely decorated and furnished and in the most wonderful location you can imagine - fabulous views of the countryside from all the windows and blissfully quiet. It is really well equipped, cosy and comfortable, and I have never had such gorgeously luxurious duvets - ever! There were also some really nice and very welcome touches - such as shower gel and hand wash left in all the bathrooms - not usual for rented cottages. I would definitely and whole heartedly recommend a stay here and we definitely plan to return. Thank you.

Very homely ...

The Cottage was immaculate, very homely, warm and the log fire was brilliant.  Couldn't fault anything, the milk in the fridge, tea coffee and sugar basket, and the vase of flowers were a very nice thoughtful touch!
