In a gorgeous rural setting ...
The cottage was beautifully equipped, in a gorgeous rural setting. We called the managers with a few queries when we arrived and they were extremely pleasant and helpful. The welcome wine and chocolates were a lovely touch.

Fabulous cottage, very relaxing ...
Really enjoyed our stay at Hilla Green. Fabulous cottage, very relaxing. Spent a couple of days cycling: Scalby to Ravenscar and return; Whitby to Ravenscar and return. Children did well, one on tow. Played Golf at South Cliff and en famille at Snainton.

Tour de Yorkshire!
Gosh it's nearly February - It will be Valentine's Day soon, and Half Term holidays, Easter and then that first Bank Holiday in May, when the Tour de Yorkshire is coming our way - the route has now been announced and I'm sure all you keen cyclists out there already know that Stage 1 on the 1st May is from Bridlington to Scarborough .. Yay .. and Stage 2 on 2nd May is Selby to York, Stage 3 on 3rd May is Wakefield to Leeds. We already have a keen cycle fan booked into one of our lovely cottages, but still have two cottages available for that period. Stage 1 peloton will be zooming right through Hackness, only metres from Granary Cottage! Have a look and book soon ... Route maps can be found on:

Stunning cottage, truly 5 star
Stunning cottage, truly 5 star. Six of us stayed here, our family of four plus two grandparents and there was so much room. Such a comfortable cottage with everything we could possibly need. It was so tranquil and the views were incredible, we loved watching the wildlife from the garden. Can't wait to go again!

The cottage was nice and spacious ...
The cottage was nice and spacious. The under floor heating was superb! The layout and equipment included made our stay all the better. The beds were very comfortable. The number of bathrooms was excellent. The entrance hall with the natural stone paving gave a real wow factor one first entry. The views were stunning.

lovely cottage, peaceful and secluded ...
Lovely cottage, peaceful and secluded but not so far off the beaten track as to make it difficult to get to. Extremely well equipped and furnished and loved that the Christmas tree was still up when we booked over the New Year. Great location for walking which we did and near enough to historic market town for a little retail therapy and a pint. Already looking at your other properties in Yorkshire and Scotland after this perfect break.

Relaxing atmosphere, very spacious
Relaxing atmosphere, very spacious, good size bedrooms, perfect fire place stocked with coal and logs, perfect to end your day sitting by the fire. The kitchen is exceptionally large, with everything you need if not more. This was our second holiday to north cottage this year, and its my plan to book another holiday writhing the end of this year. A true home from home.

December in Scarborough
16th December marks the 100th anniversary of the Bombardment of Scarborough - the first attack on our shores in 1914. There are some very interesting bits of information, accounts and photographs of that day (see www.scarboroughsmaritimeheritage.org.uk/) when over 700 shells were launched from sea in half an hour! There are also lots of events around town to mark the occasion - see discoveryorkshirecoast.com/scarborough-remembers.aspx for more info. On a brighter note, it's actually a lovely time of year to visit the Yorkshire Coast and stroll along our beautiful beaches with your fish and chips
