Covid-19 update

Before You Go

Please be certain you are all fit to travel.  Look at (England) and (Scotland) for latest government information & guidance re: Covid-19.

If any of you have any symptoms of Covid-19 within 14 days of your holiday, or receive a track and trace alert, you must inform us straight away and follow the necessary guidance. Country Cottage Holiday will only cancel and refund bookings if there is another lock-down, if government rules prevent you travelling to stay in our holiday cottage, and/or disallows Country Cottage Holiday from having you to stay in our holiday cottages.

Please make sure your travel insurance will cover cancellation in any other situation.

Check-in 5:30pm and Check-out 9:30am

We are doing our best to keep everyone safe during your stay with Country Cottage Holiday, so these times allow for airing, extra cleaning and disinfecting the cottage.

Items you may want to consider bringing with you to your holiday cottage

  • Tourist Information leaflets and magazines have been removed from the cottage for your safety, so please do your tourist / holiday research before you travel - or online during your stay.
  • Face masks - useful if you are visiting any popular tourist attractions / shops etc.
  • Disinfectant wipes, disposable gloves and hand sanitiser - useful all round, especially if you’re out and about.
  • First aid kit - including Paracetamol and a thermometer.
  • Toiletries, including soap/handwash, shower gel, shampoo.
  • Cards and board games, DVDs, books etc. - these have been removed from the cottage for your safety.
  • Laundry detergent - there will be a couple of powder/liquid capsules in the cottage, but you may want to wash some items more frequently, such as face masks.
  • Dishwasher powder/tablets - there will be a couple in the cottage (note: there is no dishwasher in West Cottage).
  • All your Food and Drink, including cooking oils, condiments, tea, coffee, sugar etc. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide a Welcome Pack at this time.
  • There will be limited crockery and cutlery - but enough for the cottage guest capacity.
  • There will be minimal cleaning products so you may want to bring your own. There will be no floor brushes or mops.
  • If you have a baby in your party, please bring your own travel-cot. We can still provide high-chairs, on request.

During your stay

  • Please do not invite additional guests back to the cottage.
  • Use the dishwasher whenever possible during your stay (note: there is no dishwasher in West Cottage).
  • There will be no linen change service.
  • Only emergency/essential maintenance or repairs will be carried out during your stay.

Before you leave

  • Please leave the property in the same condition that you found it.
  • Open as many windows as possible.
  • Remove all food from the cupboards and fridge/freezer before you leave, dispose or take with you.
  • On the day of departure, please strip beds and leave all linen and towels in the laundry bag provided, or on the floor.
  • Please ensure all kitchen equipment has been thoroughly washed with detergent and hot water, in the dishwasher if possible, before you leave.
  • Please make sure you dispose of all rubbish in the appropriate external bins.
  • Return keys to the key safe.

We really appreciate your understanding and cooperation at this unusual time.
