December in Scarborough
16th December marks the 100th anniversary of the Bombardment of Scarborough - the first attack on our shores in 1914. There are some very interesting bits of information, accounts and photographs of that day (see www.scarboroughsmaritimeheritage.org.uk/) when over 700 shells were launched from sea in half an hour! There are also lots of events around town to mark the occasion - see discoveryorkshirecoast.com/scarborough-remembers.aspx for more info. On a brighter note, it's actually a lovely time of year to visit the Yorkshire Coast and stroll along our beautiful beaches with your fish and chips

away from it all holiday in a beautiful valley
We enjoyed our stay in Manor House Farm and recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful /away from it all holiday in a beautiful valley but yet so close to the busy Yorkshire coast. Delightful renovation and high quality fixtures and fittings. All you need is there.

A beautiful, peaceful place that let us enjoy the Highland countryside
This is a beautiful, peaceful place that let us enjoy the Highland countryside - from the pheasants to the scenery! We enjoyed the layout and the ability to accommodate a 3rd child in the one room. Having 2 full bathrooms and a half bathroom was a pleasant surprise for us.

A real wow factor on so many levels
What a perfect place. It has a real wow factor on so many levels, from the 25ft vaulted ceiling to bedding by the White Company. The little terrace is a real sun trap. The weather was so nice when we were here that we had to buy a sun brolly! Highly recommended, we WILL be back.

Breakfast with the sheep and lambs
Beautiful cottage. The Smalls loved having Al Fresco breakfast with the sheep and lambs. Had a great day out @ Thorpe Perrow Arboretum @ Bedale with the birds of prey. Lots of picnic places, cafe, and great play park. Spent a day @ Richmond. Market Day is Saturday. Waterfalls, picnicing & paddling in the River Swale is worth a trip. Barney is always lovely too - great cake @ Penney's.
