Otter Lodge is a stunning building which has been perfectly renovated retaining the original outside structure and is beautifully situated amongst the trees and river. Although not far from the boat house it is absolutely private and gives the feeling of total seclusion. Internally the cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished and the vaulted ceiling and large windows in the living/dining area gives it the additional wow factor. It was very cosy and warm which I wouldn't have expected from such a big room. On arrival finding bread, milk, butter, jam and cinnamon buns was a really nice welcoming touch and the toiletries in the bathrooms added to the feeling of a little bit of luxury. Walking around the various paths and coming across tree carvings of otters and bhuda etc surrounded by trees and water and wildlife was an absolute pleasure. |

I am finding it very difficult to fault Otter Lodge. So for us a few things we would have liked would be a map of the estate paths for walking. A bird table in the garden would have been nice and possibly seating around the back of the house. The only thing we didn't like was the fact that the windows were all locked. I realise this is probably for security but in an area of vitually no crime where people don't lock their cars or their front doors, it really was a pity not to be able to let the outside in while indoors. |

| Cancellation policy: |
Cancellation: The Holidaymaker is liable for the total hire charge unless written notice of the intention to cancel the booking is received at least eight weeks prior to the commencement of the holiday. The deposit paid to confirm the booking, and other monies paid, will only be refunded if the Owner is able to re-let the holiday cottage for the period of the holiday let. In the event of re-letting, the Owner will retain the sum of 100GBP to cover administrative costs and (subject to deduction of that sum) refund to the Holidaymaker the balance of monies received from the Holidaymaker, or the sum received from re-letting whichever sum shall be the lower. Every effort will be made to re-let a cancelled booking, but the Holidaymaker is advised to take out holiday insurance to cover that eventuality. |
