We adore coming and staying at Thwaite Cottages but this was the first time in West. The only thing we missed from the other cottages was the log fire but appreciate there isn't an ideal spot to put one. Other than that is was perfect. |

Everything was clean and spotless and in full working order... a little bit of luxury for a few days. |

Loved the cottage very comfortable and well equipped a real home from home, only down side was our lack of mobile phone signal. We would love to return again soon. |

With a toddler the layout and fact that the accommodation was all on ground level made it so much easier. It was very well equipped, clean, furnished to a high standard and the surroundings made it perfect and so much more enjoyable. Would highly recommend and hopefully will re-visit again soon. |

Only one thing really to note, there was a very strong sour smell coming from the corner wall cupboard in the kitchen and it wasn't until late on the second day that we decided to investigate further to find a jug half full with turned milk. Once we removed it the smell did eventually start to clear, other than this it was simply lovely. |

This is our third year in the cottages and each time we have enjoyed our stay. we like the area very much and appreciate being able to go for long walks from the house using local OS maps. That is probably the cottages' main attraction in terms of location. Other wise we find them well furnished and simply which is to our taste.
We would recommend to others. |

Great location, wonderful countryside, well layout out cottage with lots of things to do.
Bedding and furnishings were lovely |

Small negatives - sort these and it would of been a 10/10
No Wifi
TV was very small, looked silly in the room. Worked ok.
But more importantly the mattress on the double bed was very, very soft. Well used, very uncomfortable. Needs a new one. |

Love the country location of the cottage particularly liked seeing all the new born lambs in the fields and hearing the curlews and lapwings.The weather was lovely and sunny as well so enjoyed the walks in the countryside. This cottage is ideal for visiting Barnard Castle which is a very nice town |
