Manor House Farm is the larger house section of a refurbished Grade II listed farmhouse set in the heart of the picturesque North Yorkshire countryside.
Located between the seaside town of Scarborough and the village of Snainton, in the North York Moors National Park, it is ideally situated for peace and tranquillity, as well as for plenty of activity in nearby towns and villages.
Practically no light pollution means amazing dark skies for all you stargazers too!
Beautifully renovated, this cottage comprises a living room, dining room, kitchen, three Bedrooms, three Bathrooms and a large garden.
Layout:
Ground Floor entrance hall left into a lovely, bright living room with sofa, armchairs, coffee tables, window seat, and Freeview TV.
An open doorway leads into the dining room with table and seating for six guests.
A door from the dining room leads to a Kitchen, which includes a fridge/freezer, electric oven and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. The kitchen is well-equipped for preparation, cooking and serving meals for six guests.
The back door (in the kitchen) opens to the back garden and drive.
The bedroom (downstairs) has a double bed, bedside cabinets, wardrobe, and a window seat.
There is a Bathroom right next to this bedroom comprising a shower, wash hand basin and W.C.
A back hallway leads to the dining room.
First Floor has a double bedroom with king-size bed, bedside cabinets, wardrobe, dressing table. The en-suite bathroom comprises bath, wash hand basin, and W.C.
There is also a twin bedroom with two single beds, wardrobe, bedside cabinets, and dressing table.
The family bathroom has a shower, wash hand basin, and W.C.
There is a large garden at the front, side and back of the house, which is enclosed with wall, fence, and a gate. There is also plenty of parking space on the drive at the back of the cottage.
Heating and electricity included in your rental. We provide all bedding, bed linen and towels, TV, and WiFi (subject to fair usage policy).
Dogs are welcome at an added fee of £20 per dog.
Please note: Gardens/Outside areas not necessarily dog proof, even if fenced/walled, so dogs must be kept under control at all times, especially near farm animals.
We had a great week, the location was lovely and peaceful and quiet - just what we all needed, apart from the list below.....
A few things were a bit disappointing:
1) we arrived at 4.45pm on the Saturday (so much later than 4.00pm) to find the cleaners still cleaning the cottage! this was very confusing for my mum, as she is blind and it was meant to be a quiet welcome etc.... We weren't very happy about this, and they didn't even apologise! They seemed in a rush - this was true because they had put our quilt cover on inside out.
2) I decided to have a bath on the Sunday morning, however whilst laying back in the bath, I stretched out my legs and then realised that there was a greasy rim all around the bath - YUCK! so I had to leap out......
3) the window catch on the bedroom with the bath, was hanging off, it needs a little screw to tighten it up - it fell off twice whilst we were there.
4) I left a freezer block (a white one) in the freezer by a mistake. If it could be sent to me that would be lovely. I know its only a freezer block but it was new.

We liked the cottage and the location very much. It was so peaceful, and suited our needs very well as a family. We enjoyed our stay.
Having a dishwasher and washing machine was good. I particularly liked the speed and efficiency of the dishwasher !
The bedrooms were fine, except one member of our party found the duvet too heavy.
It would have been good to have a bath mat for the shower rooms as well as the ensuite bathroom.
It would also be nice to have a hand towel in the kitchen as well as the tea towels.
There were no instructions about outside rubbish bins - collection day or what items could be put in a recycling bin. Apart from that everything was fine.

Beautiful views, delightful cottage. Would stay again. Comments below are minor and didn't take away from our experience.
Top step of staircase slopes downwards making it quite hazardous and really dangerous for our toddler so I do think the house is unsuitable for young children. Was told there would be washing powder something which was essential for our stay however not enough was provided for even 1 wash. More clothes pegs would be good. Also kitchen floor wasn't very clean, a few dried on onion pieces were stuck to the floor. An outdoor swing would be good. First impression was the house needed a lick of paint outside and the front door needs attention as sticks on the threshold.

The location was perfect for us as we like somewhere quiet. The enclosed garden was good for our 2 year old granddaughter and we were able to use our barbecue. The beds were comfortable and it was good to have a bathroom for each room as we were a mixed party. The milk and bottle of wine etc was a nice touch and much appreciated.
Although the accommodation is well furnished and very clean we felt it could do with a lick of paint in the main living areas. There were some minor maintenance issues which didn't spoil our holiday and which were passed onto to the office staff for their information. It was quite warm when we were there - very nice - but we did find the duvets quite heavy for the time of year. A lighter option would have been good. We ended up taking the duvets off altogether and just sleeping under the cover.
The kitchen is well equipped although with the cottage being a distance away from restaurants etc we tended to cook most evenings. We felt some additional items for use in the oven would have been useful e.g., large pan or roasting tin. It was a bit of a juggling act at times finding enough dishes to serve food in when we were cooking for six adults. Minor points that again did not spoil our holiday - and we appreciate that not everyone would be cooking as much as we did.

Fourth visit now I think so that says it all! Handy for all our family in langdale end and ebberstob to come for breakfasts and dinners; kids want to move here!!
All looking a little tired in places; carpets/ painting etc; kitchen door surround externally has started to come away. We love the place so none of this really bothers us but not so sure if others would be as forgiving; it is meant to be 5* after all (we think) ..... we, as always, will be back!

Absolutely loved the house and the location is superb. House is very comfortable, warm and cosy.
Some of the fittings have become a little worn - for example all the toilets had the tendency to freeze after flushing and continually run water and we had to make sure we half pressed them to stop it. Also some of the armchairs are a little dirty at the back now.

Downstairs toilet and shower still leak. Flush system on all toilets isn't great; quite a lot of dead flies on the window cill in the stair well..... :)

Wonderful location, beautiful cottage. The furnishings were beautiful in the bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs. The garden was amazing and beautifully kept. Lovely, cosy lounge and a nicely fitted kitchen. Wonderful place for a relaxing holiday. Will definitely return as soon as possible.
Whilst staying at a cottage in the Dales in April it was a rare treat to find all the basic cooking ingredients in the cupboards. This made life so easy as we didn't have to go shopping for basic things. Included were salt, pepper, cooking oils, small bags of flour etc. Also some baking paper to line pans. This may seem very simple but it made such a difference.
Amazed not to find any oven gloves or cooking tongues in the kitchen either.
My last point is about the flies. On arrival the house was full of them especially the kitchen. We had to go out straight away and buy fly spray as none was supplied. I'm thinking it may be worth investing in one of those small electric fly killers for the kitchen especially, as even after using the spray at night the flies were just as abundant the next morning. It did not spoil our stay but we could have managed without them!
Cancellation: The Holidaymaker is liable for the total hire charge unless written notice of the intention to cancel the booking is received at least eight weeks prior to the commencement of the holiday. The deposit paid to confirm the booking, and other monies paid, will only be refunded if the Owner is able to re-let the holiday cottage for the period of the holiday let. In the event of re-letting, the Owner will retain the sum of 100GBP to cover administrative costs and (subject to deduction of that sum) refund to the Holidaymaker the balance of monies received from the Holidaymaker, or the sum received from re-letting whichever sum shall be the lower. Every effort will be made to re-let a cancelled booking, but the Holidaymaker is advised to take out holiday insurance to cover that eventuality.
