The cottage was comfortable, had everything we needed and was lovely and clean. The location was perfect for views, walking and cycling.

We adore coming and staying at Thwaite Cottages but this was the first time in West. The only thing we missed from the other cottages was the log fire but appreciate there isn't an ideal spot to put one. Other than that is was perfect.

Loved the cottage very comfortable and well equipped a real home from home, only down side was our lack of mobile phone signal. We would love to return again soon.

With a toddler the layout and fact that the accommodation was all on ground level made it so much easier. It was very well equipped, clean, furnished to a high standard and the surroundings made it perfect and so much more enjoyable. Would highly recommend and hopefully will re-visit again soon.

This is our third year in the cottages and each time we have enjoyed our stay. we like the area very much and appreciate being able to go for long walks from the house using local OS maps. That is probably the cottages' main attraction in terms of location. Other wise we find them well furnished and simply which is to our taste. We would recommend to others.

Love the country location of the cottage particularly liked seeing all the new born lambs in the fields and hearing the curlews and lapwings.The weather was lovely and sunny as well so enjoyed the walks in the countryside. This cottage is ideal for visiting Barnard Castle which is a very nice town
