Granary Cottage is situated on the eastern fringe of the North York Moors National Park at Hackness, 7 miles west of Scarborough and the east coast; handy for Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, Pickering and York.

The 3 bedroomed cottage is a recently renovated beautiful 18th Century barn nestling in a superb position overlooking Troutsdale. The spacious cottage is finished to a very high standard by local craftsmen keeping many of its original features along with supplying every modern convenience. There are 3 beautiful bedrooms, two double and one twin each with Ensuite luxury marble tiled bathrooms. One double on the ground floor, the other two on the first floor.

Thwaites Cottages are three secluded luxury cottages converted from the original Thwaites farmhouse and barns in 2006. All the cottages have lovely views from most windows and are part of the Scargill Estate which is situated in the beautiful countryside of Teesdale, three miles south of the A66 near Barnard Castle.

The Estate comprises of attractive moor and wood land featuring abundant wildlife of special interest to bird enthusiasts.

There are many attractive walks on the moor and along the River Greta through a deciduous woodland ghyll.

The three cottages are all well equipped providing home comforts ideal for families and couples alike.

There are many nearby local attractions and activities with a good choice of pubs and restaurants in and around the local villages and Barnard Castle.

Online bookings can be made for seven nights, Saturday to Saturday for all our properties with the exception of East Cottage which is seven nights, Friday to Friday.
